Debbie is a Professor in the Department of Curriculum Studies at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada and is a passionate advocate for authentic parent partnerships. Debbie’s research program
has engaged in narrative inquiries into parent knowledge, parent engagement and leadership and she has recently co-authored two books on parent engagement. Debbie explored with parents, principals, teachers & Catholic School Office staff some current practices in schools and the ways that positive relationships with parents and families can be nurtured. Speaking about her 'curriculum of parents' and the benefits that flow from building reciprocal relationships and engaging parents in their child's education.
