Activity: an “ideas” list for the fridge
The video clip presented a number of suggestions for incorporating mathematical ideas and numeracy into everyday home life. Some of these were: * Having analogue and digital clocks and calendars on display, and in use, around the house * Encouraging your child to help with cooking, measuring and weighing the ingredients * Playing family cards and board games You may like to make notes on other suggestions presented in the clip, and to add your own ideas to the list. Perhaps you might like to encourage your child to add his or her own ideas to the list so that he/she is also becoming more aware of maths and numeracy in the home environment. |
