3. Partnerships create connectedness (between home – school – communities).
LINK: Linking home and school 4. Resiliency is for everyone, not just those in need. Life will include challenges for everyone over time. 5. As parents, advocacy alone is not enough; we also need to role-model and give permission for your child / family to adopt positive resilient behaviours and opportunities to develop skills. While ‘permission’ general refers to empowering your child, it also includes setting boundaries around behaviours that could undermine their wellbeing (e.g. prolonged screen time, bedtimes etc.) RESILIENCE Source: Dr John Reflect responsibility READ Clinic Exemplify good values & work habits Showing them how to tackle life’s problems Inverting negatives to positives Liking the kids, not just loving them Identifying & understanding feelings Enjoying the kids, sense of play & fun in family Not overprotecting or spoiling Communication regularly, easily and positively Encouraging strong home-school partnerships |
